Hoopoe is often mistaken for a woodpecker. In fact, the beak of the woodpecker is thick and short, while the crown of the head of Hoopoe is like a folding fan, and the mouth is extremely slender and curved downward. After they find the insect on the ground, they suddenly shake their head, throw it up, and open their mouth to swallow it. Hoopoe is the national bird of Israel and one of the three protected birds in China.
Hoopoe can adapt to a variety of habitats and can survive in mountains, plains, forest areas, grasslands, farmland, villages, orchards and even stone beaches. They like to perch on the trunk of open countryside, garden and countryside, and sometimes stand on the roof or wall of farmhouses for a long time. Most of them move alone or in pairs, and they are rarely seen in groups.
