Lovebird is the general name of all species in the genus peony parrot. With a body length of 13-17 cm and a weight of 40-60 g, it is the smallest parrot species. The body is short and fat, with a short tail and a relatively large beak. Most of the peony parrots' body feathers are mainly green, while artificial breeding and variants make many colors appear. The service life is about 10-15 years.
Lovebirds are very gregarious and affectionate parrots. They will be inseparable from their partners, close to each other, and most of them will stay together for life. Because of this, peony parrots must be kept in pairs. Wild populations are distributed in Africa and Madagascar. It is cultivated all over the world.
