Macaw is a large colorful American parrot, produced in tropical America. It is one of the most beautiful and largest parrots. They are native to forests, especially the rainforests of Mexico, central and South America. There are 17 species in 6 genera. Each foot has 4 toes, 2 in front and 2 in back. The tail is very long, belongs to the large-scale climber.
Macaw's diet is mainly a lot of fruits and flowers, they eat a lot, strong beak can peck nuts open, with blunt tongue suck pulp. Build nests in trees and caves along the river banks. It is easy to be trained by human beings, and can get along well with other kinds of parrots, but also bite other animals and strangers. The life span is 65 years. Some species can learn to imitate speech with a soft voice. But in many cases they scream like wild parrots.
