Pearl jam is an alternative rock band in the United States. Its members include guitarist stone gossard, bassist Jeff ament, guitarist Mike mccrady, drummer Dave krusen and lead singer Eddie Vedder. After Andrew Wood, the lead singer of the band, died of drug overdose, guitarist stone gossard and bass player Jeff ament formed a new band pearl jam together with new guitarist Mike mccrady, drummer Dave krusen and lead singer Eddie Vedder. In 1991, the band recorded its first album ten, which did not achieve good results at the beginning, but driven by the classic album nevermind of Nirvana, alternative rock began to mainstream.
In 1992, the sales volume of Pearl Jam ten finally surpassed nevermind and became one of the few multi platinum debut works in the 1990s. Pearl Jam's gorgeous and elegant grunge music style formed its own school at that time, paying more attention to the overall music quality and understanding of the broad and profound rock genre of post punk. Drummer krusen soon left the team and new drummer Dave Abbruzzese joined. In 1992, Pearl Jam's popularity increased rapidly with the vigorous publicity of major radio stations and MTV, and participated in the performance of the second Lollapalooza rock music festival.
