Phonograph is a kind of electric equipment used to play records; it was invented by American inventor Edison in 1877. Gramophone records can be easily reproduced in large quantities, and the playback time is longer than most cylindrical recording media. Therefore, gramophone is known as one of Edison's greatest inventions. The types of gramophone include cassette gramophone, desktop loudspeaker, vertical gramophone, cabinet gramophone and professional enthusiast gramophone.
Phonograph is a kind of original sound releasing device, whose sound is stored in an arc groove carved on the plane of record (disc) by acoustic method. The record is placed on a turntable and rotated under the stylus. With the development of science and technology, the phonograph function integrates the playback equipment in all periods in history, from the earliest black rubber disc, radio, to CD, USB, Bluetooth and other playback devices.
